Comments Off

Teenager dies. Irvine man hospitalized.

A two-vehicle auto accident at Arrow Highway and Fulton Road at about 10 p.m. on Thursday night, claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy and sent the passengers of the other vehicle to the hospital according to the Pomona Police Department, as reported by the Orange County Register. The condition of the two injured men was not known. The deceased boy’s name was being withheld until his family is notified.

The police department’s Accident Investigation Department is still investigating the cause of the auto accident and has requested that anyone that may have information about the accident to please contact them at 909-620-2081.

The injured men were identified as, Craig Diss, 23 of Irvine, and his passenger, Sajan Hansji 24, of Pomona, and were taken to USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, police said.

Please wear your seat belt. According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration 15,000 lives are saved each year by seat belt use.

On the other hand, I have been involve with many cases where the evidence indicates that there was a failure of the seat belt system rather than a failure to wear the seat belt. There are numerous pieces of evidence that can be gathered to determining if a seat belt was being worn and the type of malfunction that contributed to the ejection, if any.
