Digital Security Controls Smoke Detectors Recalled

Comments Off

Digital Security Controls is recalling approximately 32,000 defective smoke detectors that could fail to detect smoke in a fire.

The recall involves Digital Security Controls FSA and FSB series photo-electric smoke detectors. The detectors are wired into the building structure and do not require a battery. The dome shaped units have a metal mesh that covers the smoke sensor.

The units were sold by residential and commercial installers nationwide. Customers should call the installer immediately to receive a free inspection to make sure if their units are included in the recall. If they are, they will receive a free replacement smoke detector and installation.

Customers also can contact Digital Security Controls for additional information on how to receive free replacement smoke detectors. Only professional installers should remove and replace these units.

Consumer Contact: For additional information, contact Digital Security Controls toll-free at (877) 666-1250 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s Web site at www.dsc.com.
