Santa's Helper – Check For Toy Safety

Comments Off

Product Defects Cost $700 Billion Annually

Santa’s coming and it’s time to check which toys have been naughty and which have been nice. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) maintains a listing of naughty toys at their Toy Hazard Recalls website. Over a hundred children’s toys are listed.

Children can check out CPSC’s “Kidd Safety” and his pals. The site features children’s on-line games geared to prevent injuries from consumer products. It’s fun, or at least as much fun as a kid could have at a government safety website.

Deaths, injuries and property damage from consumer product defects and incidents, according to CPSC, costs the nation more than $700 billion annually. CPSC is the government agency responsible for protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from more than 15,000 types of consumer products under its jurisdiction. The work of CPSC to ensure the safety of consumer products, such as toys, cribs and power tools, has contributed significantly to the 30% decline in deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 30 years.

Visit their site at http://www.cpsc.gov/, where you can check out recalled toys, request information and report dangerous toys and consumer products.

In the event of a serious injury due to a defective product, call us for a consultation and assessment. The call is free. The consultation and assessment are free. The peace of mind may be priceless.
