Since 1968, California has had only three days without a freeway traffic fatality on its freeways. There have only been three fatal-crash-free days on California freeways since 1968. Thirty-nine years and only three fatality accident free days.
The last time California saw a “fatal free day” was Sept. 12, 2000.
Since statistics have been kept, the state has never gotten through a major holiday with no traffic fatalities, Mike Brown, CHP Comissioner has said.
It has been estimated that nearly 50% of auto accident fatalities would have been prevented by 100% seat belt usage.
Please, always buckle up.
